Dear Anjali
I hope this letter finds you well. After receiving your latest letter, I realize how much of a problem the power cuts are in your area and how it must be hard to carry out your day to day life without reliable electricity, especially now during these very hot days.
First of all, if there is a power schedule for your area, make a plan of when you are going to do your daily activities. Charge up your cell phones, laptops, and power banks well in advance. You should also have emergency lights, candles, and a flashlight within reach at all times because you never know when the power will go out.
In order to keep cool, consider using battery operated fans or keeping your windows open at night for proper ventilation. It is also very important to stay hydrated, drink plenty of water and try to avoid going out during the hottest part of the afternoon. If at all possible, try to store water in advance for drinking purposes.
If you are able to, look for areas like libraries, community centers or cafe's that have power back-ups for (studying/studying), office work or other activities. While at home, spending time with family, reading a book or listening to the radio can help ease the anxiety caused by power cuts.
I hope that the situation improves rapidly and that the government takes the necessary steps to help you.
