My Dear Father,
I am going to tell you that I have failed in Promotion Test. I am really ashamed of it. I kow, it will grieve you. But i assure you, I am not to blame for it.
My failure is not due to any carelessness on my part. I always worked hard and regularly. I never missed any class. My friends, too, were very good. I never went to picture or otherwise idled away my time.
My failure is sheerly due to my ill-luck. A fortnight before the examination I feel ill. So I could not revise my courses. During the examination days, too, I was running temperature. I did my papers as best as I could. But I could not do them well. I request you not to take my failure to heart.
